Insight: To present a flaw as a virtue = A Positive Perspective.
During the monsoon season at Swaminarayan Dham, Gandhinagar, Guruji HDH Swamishri was seated with the sants in the afternoon to offer the meal to Thakorji.
That day, sev had been offered as a snack item in Thakorji’s thal. The sants prayed to Guruji to accept some of it. As Guruji was about to take the sev offered in Thakorji’s thal, at that time one sant prayed, “Dayalu, please remain pleased. When the sev was placed before Thakorji, it was crisp, but because it remained in the open, it has become a bit soft. Please accept this fresh sev.”
Guruji smiled knowingly and said, “Dear sant, we should not say that the sev has become soft. The sev has become humble. Look, it bends whichever way we fold it! If we become humble like this sev, Maharaj will be very pleased with us.”
Saying this, Guruji accepted that very soft sev. In Guruji’s life, at every moment and in every small incident, we see a hint of a positive perspective.
Resolve: I will remain positive and see the virtue within a person or object that appears flawed.
A positive eye does not deny the flaw; it discovers the hidden virtue
